Boscov’s to hire 300 at new store in Westfield Meriden Mall

MERIDEN, Conn. – Boscov’s department store is set for an October launch in the Westfield Meriden Mall, creating more than 300 jobs.

The company will backfill the vacated JC Penney space and expand to approximately 180,000 square feet. Boscov’s sells clothing, cosmetics, furniture, toys, appliances and other housewares at mid-range prices.

The largest family-owned department store in the country, Boscov’s has 43 stores in the mid-Atlantic region and Ohio and was founded in 1918 in Pennsylvania. Today, the company boasts per annum revenue in excess of $1 billion.
